About 2,000 years ago, a small primitive nation called "Na~no~kuni" existed in the region presently known as Fukuoka . Delegates from "Nanokuni" were sent to China (then the Later Hann) and were reportedly given a "Seal" from Emperor Kobu in 57AD. A description about this is made in the 'Kokannsho' , the History Book of the Later Hann.
　The seal mentioned here is 'The Gold Seal", a national treasure, accidentally discovered in a rice paddy near the western beach of Shikanoshima in the 4th year of Temmei (1784). This discovery dates back 1,941 years from 1998.
